    Gemma Rouse

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Gemma joined Riverside Vets as a new graduate in 2008. She started leading the equine clinical team 5 years later and went on to become a director of the practice in 2014.

    Gemma is passionate about all aspects of caring for you and your horse with a particular interest in orthopaedics, pain management and poor performance issues.

    She loves practice life and becoming part of your horses team and aims to find the very best treatment solutions tailored to individual circumstances.

    Nick Hart BVetMed PGCertVBM MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Nick graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in 2003. After a few years in mixed practice in Bedfordshire, he returned to the RVC and spent the next 15 years working with their equine ambulatory practice before joining Riverside Vets Equine.

    Nick enjoys all facets of equine practice but has a particular interest in sports horse medicine and lameness. He has a passion for disability equestrian sport and was the Team Vet for Ireland at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and the Honorary Veterinary Surgeon for the Riding for the Disabled Association from 2020-25.

    Nick is an FEI Permitted Treating Veterinarian and an Official Veterinarian for equine exports. He was an author on the paper - BEVA Primary Care Clinical Guidelines: Diagnosis and Management of Equine Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction.

    Kate Moon MA VetMB CertES(Orth) MRCVS

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Kate graduated from Cambridge Veterinary School in 2003 and went on to complete an internship at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket. She then joined Valley Equine Hospital in Lambourn, where she worked for many years and developed broad experience in all areas of equine practice. She also spent time in New Zealand gaining experience in reproductive and stud medicine.

    Kate enjoys all aspects of equine veterinary work and has a particular interest in diagnostic imaging - radiography, ultrasonography and endoscopy. She enjoys the variety of equine work, meeting clients and their horses, and being part of the practice team.

    Anna Chuter REVN

    Equine REVN

    Anna qualified in 2003 and enjoys the practical side of veterinary nursing, with a particular like for anaesthesia.
    She passed her Equine Veterinary Nursing top up qualification at the start of the year and loves being outside, seeing our clients horses.
    Anna has been learning about lameness examinations and endoscopy, looking for troublesome ulcers and how to treat them.

    Charles Roberts

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Charles qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1965. Despite retirement, Charles continues to provide daily contributions and advice for all aspects of Practice life.

    Charlotte Aley

    Equine Receptionist

    Charlotte started with us July 2008. She runs the show; phones, diary, equine accounts and computer administration.

    Charlotte also assists vets with diagnostic workups due to her experience with equines!

    She has been horse riding since 6 years old and now competes in BSJA. Charlotte has BHS stage 1, 2 and 3 and a National Diploma in horsemanship.

    Other hobbies include scuba diving and skiing.
